Sky is not the Limit atleast with Telenor

Every where I go my cell is with my , even on the plane I use it to read books , watch movies or play games and now I can even use it to make calls aboard Emirates planes Thanks to Aero mobile a joint venture of ARINC and Telenor and the better part is that Telenor Pakistan is offering their services and all I have to do is subscribe to their Persona ( Post Paid ) services and activate International Roaming , charges will be as per Carrier agreement .

What Aero mobile is ?

Using AeroMobile aircraft passengers and crew can safely use their own mobile phones and PDAs whilst in-flight to keep in touch with colleagues, customers, friends and family. AeroMobile supports voice telephone, text messaging and data services using current and future aircraft communications technologies

AeroMobile is the only operator with the capability to provide cellular voice and text messaging using the existing 'Classic' Inmarsat satellite communications systems installed in over 2,000 commercial airliners. AeroMobile can also support data services, such as email and Internet browsing over GPRS and WiFi/Live IP where the aircraft has higher bandwidth communications systems such as Inmarsat's Swift64, SwiftBroadband or Ku-band satellite services. AeroMobile's technology can be easily and progressively enhanced with greater capacity and capability as new satellite systems come on stream.



What Telenor Offers ?

Telenor Pakistan proudly launches In-flight mobile phone services onboard International flights collaborating with AeroMobile exclusively on Emirates Airline. With AeroMobile complete global coverage, persona subscribers can safely use their own mobile phones to call and sms just as they would on ground.

It is available on one of its Aircraft Airbus A340-300. AeroMobile and Emirates are working to install additional aircraft as soon as possible. It is likely that the next Emirate aircraft to be activated with this service will be a Boeing 777, which flies to routes other than A340-300.

Furthermore, Aero Mobile will soon launch its services with Qantas Airlines and Turkish Airlines

Currently, this service is available for Telenor Persona subscribers only. GPRS and Prepaid Roaming services will be offered soon.

How does it work? You will simply switch ON your phone once the aircraft reaches the cruise altitude as directed by the cabin crew
Each passenger’s phone will then receive a free text message (SMS) from the AeroMobile system advising passengers to switch their phones to silent mode
Services will be billed directly to the user’s mobile account as an international roaming call

Benefits Persona subscriber can safely use their mobile phones to make calls and SMS as they would on ground
Caller ID will also function as normal
No special handset settings are required to enjoy the service
A subscriber will have the luxury of using his personal phone and address book while in flight


Note: Please ensure International Roaming is activate on your subscription.
The service will not work during take off and landing.
Your IR bill will be generated in Pakistani Rupees with your monthly Post paid bill.
