Cellphone tax is here more for poor less for the rich

As falling Rupee value agianst dollar was not enough to increase the price of cellphones by almost 10 % now govt has imposed a new tax of Rs 500/- per phone likewise the % effect will be a huge 25% on a Rs 2000 worth Nokia 1110 to only 1% on Nokia E90 (currently at Rs 50000 plus) .
Hmm the budget was supposed to be for the poor people , my proposal was to impose a 10 % on sets costing more than Rs 5000 so the poor man could have easily afforded the phone and those who want luxury phones ( Vertu costing around half a million ) have to pay as per the depth of their pockets
