Consumer Protection in action Court Ordered Refund of mobile Phone Price

In Lahore -  Pakistan THE District Consumer Court has ordered a mobile phone seller to refund Rs 11700- the price of a mobile phone - along with Rs 2,000 as litigation cost to a petitioner in 10 days from the date of this order. 
Adil Hussain, the petitioner, filed a lawsuit claiming for Rs 50,000 against Brothers Mobile, the respondent, under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act, 2005 that he  that he purchased the brand new Nokia 6300 under the impression that the set was made in Hungary while the set was made in China .  On complaint to the seller he was insulted and threatened

The court, after examining the evidence and perusing the record, observed that as far as working of the mobile set was concerned there was no technical fault in it, however, the respondent was ready to refund the price of the set.
The court accepted the compliant to the extent that the respondent would refund price of the phone set and also pay litigation cost amounting to Rs 2,000 within 10 days to the petitioner.

Many a times consumers are deceived into buying a inferior product although they have paid for the superior one .  If the consumer does not stand for their rights the trend will continue .  I appreciate the effort Mr Adil Hussain made and won his right
